December 14, 2009 -- "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire"......were all that was missing during the Pioneer Village Candlight Tour. Christmas in the 18th Century was quite different....but the Christmas spirit remains unchanged. We played music in the Bullskin Inn while many folks toured the village by candlelight and then joined us inside The Bullskin Inn for holiday music, hot chocolate and the warmth of the hearth. The Bullskin Inn is named for the old animal and Indian trail from the Ohio River to Detroit. The trail went just east of Harveysburg and roughly followed present day Route 380 north to Xenia and Oldtown, and on to Detroit. It went south to Clarksville and on to the Bullskin creek, crossed the Ohio River and on to the salt licks on the Licking River in Kentucky. The trail was started by buffalo and other wildlife going to the salt licks. The Native Americans also used the trail in their travels north and south. Both Simon Kenton and Daniel Boone are thought to have used the trail in their travels and in their escape from the Shawnee Indians at Old Chillicothe, Old Town. During the war of 1812 wagon trains of supplies going to Admiral Perry on Lake Erie traveled the trace which had now become a road. Since Pioneer Village is so close to this trail it seems fitting, to help retain the history of the Bullskin trail, that the Inn at the Village should be called "The Bullskin Inn". Berachah Valley spent a pleasant holiday evening nestled in this 1800's structure singing and sharing the evening with a standing room only crowd. The atmosphere was one of warm hearts and a calm spirit. Berachah would like to wish our friends and family the warmest of holiday wishes.
November 27, 2009 -- Here's a big Thank You to the kind people who invited us out this past weekend.
We had a great evening at the Brookville First Baptist Church. There was good southern gospel music, by one of the best in the business, Dumplin Valley Trio. You can visit them online at the Dumplin Valley Trio website.
We also had the good fortune to share in the annual pig roast at the Gospel Outreach Training Center in Fairborn. The preaching there is as good as it gets, so is the warm reception. If you are ever in Fairborn on Sunday morning, you will be glad you stopped in to visit. Those are good people.
We finished up the weekend in Germantown at the First Baptist Church, with Pastor "Ricky". We will be dropping off toys soon to support their 'toy drive' for Dakota American Indian children. Thank you for the opportunity to share our ministry and to join hands in your ministry as well.
...and a good time was had by all.
October 27, 2009 -- It is difficult to choose the correct words for such a remarkable weekend. Michelle being able to stand on the very stage in which her mother performed years ago was quite a milestone. Jewell Robinson left quite a rich legacy for her daughter. Michelle uplifted her mother in spirit and song! She honored her mother with tremendous joy, class and talent! Thank you Pete Stamper for making a dream come true!

October 6, 2009 -- Sunday, October 4, we attended the festival for the very first time. It was a blend of folk and gospel music. We had the pleasure of performing the Sunday morning services. The atmosphere was remarkable. As Berachah was warming up their fingers as well as their vocals, patrons from all over the park gathered in to listen to the music and to worship the Lord. It was a magical moment for us. There is nothing like spending Sunday morning with God's children. We would like to thank Rum River Blend for all the support they give us. We have found true friends. There is nothing better than looking across the crowd to see RRB's smiling faces. Thank you, Mike Caldwell, for the sound. You are truly talented. When the sound is as good as yours, the rest is a piece of cake! Until next time...we look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 10 at WACO in Troy, Ohio at 3:00.
October 6, 2009 -- On Saturday, October 3rd, Berachah had the pleasure of performing at the Farm Festival in Covington, Ohio. Thanks to Mark Acton for the hospitality. Berachah is overwelmed at the support Mark has shown to us over the past couple of years. Your festival is one that we look forward to attending. Rum River Blend is always there to encourage us in all we do as well. We love you guys. I love the way God puts special friends in our life. We are also looking forward to the next festival. I know this will continue to grow with each passing year. From one music lover to another...Thanks for another wonderful time and memory.
We have a demo CD available. It's the cheapest way to take us all home with you (because we tend to eat a lot). They are available for "whatever you can afford", or $5.00, whichever comes first. Just catch us any time we are out of the house, playing music somewhere and ask for one. Of course, donations are accepted (...did we mention the bass player's appetite?).

Just for fun, take a look at what Wikipedia has to say about Bluegrass Music.
Our good friend Cecil Day, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, would like to invite everyone to worship with them.
