Founded in the spring of 2005, Berachah Valley emerged when a group of friends sought a musical space to delve into traditional bluegrass, gospel, and timeless renditions of contemporary favorites. The synergy among the members resulted in a distinctive blend of skilled musicianship and captivating female vocal harmonies, drawing inspiration from influential artists such as The Isaacs, The Forbes Family, Emmylou Harris, The Whites, and various others.


The band name, Berachah Valley, finds its roots in its thematic Bible verse, II Chronicles 20:26. Those familiar with the ensemble's performances attest that the genuine camaraderie witnessed on stage is the organic outcome of deep friendships and shared faith among the members.

Adding another exciting chapter to their journey, Berachah Valley is currently featured as the bluegrass band in the family film "Mayberry Man." The movie unfolds the story of an arrogant movie star caught speeding in a small southern town, sentenced by a judge to attend Mayberry Fest—a celebration of The Andy Griffith Show. Immersed in this modern-day Mayberry, the protagonist discovers the true essence of friendship and family.

Recognized for their captivating female trio harmony, "Berachah Valley" boasts a lineup of exceptionally talented musicians:

Cathy Baker, a founding member, skillfully handles rhythm guitar, leads, and harmonies. Her musical journey began with the band's inception, and her passion for harmonies is evident in every performance. Alongside her, Michelle Edester, another founding member, continues to shine with her masterful command of the mandolin, offering consistent harmonies and showcasing remarkable vocal versatility. Concluding the vocal trio is another founding member, seasoned Leisa Hinkle, whose musical expertise also encompasses the keyboard when the need arises. Her contributions to the group are truly priceless.

The trio of Cathy, Michelle, and Leisa takes a sophisticated approach to harmony, delivering tight vocal blends across genres such as Bluegrass, Americana, Gospel, Country, and Popular tunes. Their multi-talented voices, characterized by clarity and natural tones, consistently resonate with audiences.

Becky Meyers embarked on her banjo journey from a tender age, showcasing extraordinary prowess on the instrument. Widely recognized as an exceptional banjo player, Becky's talent is unparalleled. Her reputation as a skilled and accomplished musician resonates throughout The Miami Valley, earning her widespread admiration and respect.

Handling the bass is Larry Collins, whose emotive playing adds depth and pathos to every movement and motion. During performances, Larry displays a keen perception of complex themes, musical contour, and subtle nuances. His use of the bow during certain songs is particularly noteworthy and sets him apart as a bassist of exceptional skill. He also lends his smooth vocals to traditional bluegrass and country tunes!

The band's name, "Berachah," derived from the Bible, translates to 'blessing.' Reflecting this spirit, the group aspires to be a source of blessing through their music, aiming to share their talents and bring joy to their audience.


Venues:  
Berachah Valley has graced diverse venues in and around southwestern Ohio, as well as in California, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia. In recent years, they expanded their musical horizons by traveling to The Bahamas through Carnival Cruise Line, where they shared their talents with audiences.

Their repertoire includes performances at Bluegrass festivals, fairs, radio programs, regional TV shows, local events, private parties, reunions, and churches. Noteworthy is they have been given the opportunity to perform with or 'open for' esteemed acts such as The Jeff Parker Band,  Blue Highway, Paul Williams and The Victory Trio, Rhonda Vincent, Dailey and Vincent, The Moron Brothers, The Malpass Brothers, Continental Divide, Pine Mountain Railroad, Don Rigsby, Lost and Found, Newfound Road, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers, and Larry Sparks.
